MSO11867 - Possible Iron Age hillfort in Whits Wood (Monument)
Summary
Two earthwork banks were noted on aerial photographs, which were thought to imply the presence of a hillfort. No evidence of the banks was found during field investigation of the site.

Full Description
Double banks seen on aerial photographs in Whits Wood. [1,2] May be a hillfort. [3] The area in question is now under coniferous forest and no earthworks were discernible in the field. [4]
