Full Description
Listed as a farm on the tithe map, but no buildings shown. [1,2] This record was enhanced as part of the National Record of the Historic Environment to Exmoor National Park Historic Environment Record data transfer project. [3] N.B. The Apportionment describes land parcels 747-752 as forming Western Newland. None of the parcel descriptions include mention of a farmhouse or barton. The land was in the same ownership as Ashcroft, a much larger farmstead, and may not have required dedicated supporting buildings at this time, although they may have existed previously. [2,4]
