Full Description
The earthwork remains of a water meadow system centred at SS 9544 3767 which is presumed to be associated with the deserted Medieval farmstead of Lype (NMR SS39NE 24). The water meadow survives as a number of parallel ditches running along the slope. The ditches were seen as earthworks and mapped from aerial photographs. [1,2] This record was enhanced as part of the National Record of the Historic Environment to Exmoor National Park Historic Environment Record data transfer project. [3]
