Full Description
Waterwheel at South Wheddon farm. Wheel pit filled in. Water from pond (spring fed) pipes to wood laundler and to overshot wheel. [1] A spring is marked on 2018 MasterMap data at SS 9229 3850. It feeds a pond situated at SS 9220 3848, with water then flowing southwest away from the farmstead. [2] The pond is marked on the 25 inch 1st Edition Ordnance Survey map. There is no indication of the location of the waterwheel on the map. [3] The pond is also shown on the Tithe Map for Cutcombe. [4] This record was enhanced as part of the National Record of the Historic Environment to Exmoor National Park Historic Environment Record data transfer project. [5]
