Full Description
SS 9125 4540. A Late Bronze Age socketed axe was found by Adrian Partridge at Ebshill Lodge. It was brought into the Somerset County Museum in 1976. It is of the slender, facetted variety with a single moulding around the socket and measures 11.5 centimetres long by 4.9 centimetres across the blade. Facetted socketed axes can be dated to the developed period of the Late Bronze Age, 7th - 6th Centuries BC, from their association with other bronze work. [1]
