Full Description
SS 9618 4322. "Old limekiln" printed on Ordnance Survey Archaeology Division 6 inch map. [1] No field remains were found. [2] The limekiln is depicted and labelled on the 25 inch 1st Edition Ordnance Survey map at SS 9618 4320. [3] The limekiln is also shown on the Tithe Map for Carhampton. A routeway to the structure begins from a road at c. SS 9605 4316, heads east and then turns northwards at SS 9617 4310 before looping to the west at SS 9623 4320, heading directly to the lime kiln. It is adjacent (within) a parcel of land labelled 1021, which the Apportionment describes as "Lime Kiln Rock". [4]
