MSO11340 - Possible Bronze Age burial cairn southeast of Joaney How (Monument)

A small mound was discovered in 1976, measuring 3 metres in diameter and 0.2 metres high, 27 metres from Joaney How, on bearing of 92 degrees. It is heather covered and in good condition. (1) The mound is included in the revised scheduling on 23 April 2003. (2) Many similar mounds were located on Dunkery Hill. They are unlikely to be prehistoric burial cairns and are more likely to be associated with recent activity on the hill. (3-4) The Scheduled Monument Condition Assessment of 2009 records this mound as in very good condition and of low risk. (5)
