Interior not sighted, said to contain plank and muntin screens to cross passage, one of which has low partition in open hall house, 2 pairs of jointed cruck and trusses, chamfered beams with step and runout stops. Facade mostly obscured by vegetation at time of survey (August 1984). (VAG Report, unpublished SRO, March 1982). [1] English Heritage Listed Building Number: 265479. First Listed on 22 May 1969. [2] 2-cell Cross passage plan. Stone, Random rubble, coursed walls. Cruck, Gabled roof [3] The Allerford Conservation Area appraisal states that the tall front lateral stacks and adjoining rounded bread oven at the cottage is an example of a characteristic local vernacular feature and likely dates from the early 17th Century.[4] The building was visited in May 2012 as part of the rapid condition survey of Exmoor's Listed Buildings 2012-13. It received a BAR score of 6. [5] A structure is visible on the 1841 Selworthy Tithe map at this location. [6] Cherry Trees is depicted and labelled on 2020 MasterMap data. [7]
