MMO2256 - Possible Bronze Age barrow or cairn southeast of Dunkery Beacon (Monument)

A mound visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs may be the remains of a Bronze Age round barrow or cairn. It may be part of the monument group on the central ridge with Dunkery Beacon, the Rowbarrows and Robin and Joaney How.

A mound visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs approximately 250 metres to the east of Dunkery Beacon at circa SS 8940 4152 may be the remains of a round barrow or cairn of Bronze Age date. The 22 metre diameter mound is situated just above the 500 metre contour, possibly on a false ridge just below the summit of Dunkery Hill. This feature may be part of the monument group on the central ridge which includes Dunkery Beacon, the Rowbarrows to the west and Robin and Joaney How to the east.
