Full Description

A possible hut circle or ring cairn of prehistoric date is visible as an earthwork on oblique specialist aerial photographs under snow on Codsend Moors, Cutcombe parish. The earthwork is centred on circa SS 8927 4060, approximately 275 metres to the west of Dunkery Bridge. The feature is defined by a low earthwork bank approximately 2 metres in diameter enclosing an oval area roughly 12 metres long and 8 wide, the long axis aligned northwest to southeast. No entrance is visible, which may indicate an interpretation as a ring cairn may be more probable than hut circle.
