Full Description

The earthwork remains of a small oval enclosure or possible structure can be seen on aerial photographs of 1952, centred on circa SS 7388 4897. The feature is located on the southern crest of Wind Hill, in rough pasture between two areas of probably medieval enclosure, above the East Lyn River. It measures up to 20 metres in diameter, the enclosing earthworks varying between 1 and 3.5 metres in width. A footpath appears to pass directly through the centre of the feature. It must be stated that as this feature is visible on only one run of aerial photographs, it may be non archaeological in origin, potentially an artefact of vegetation growth.
