Full Description
The farmstead is shown on the Tithe Map for Withycombe and was labelled 357. The accompanying Apportionment describes this as "House Barton and Garden" owned by John Fownes Lutterell Esq and occupied by William Pearse. Two adjacent parcels are labelled 356 (SS 9928 4079, "Hayrick Orchard") and 369 (SS 9915 4080, "Little Orchard") and under the same ownership and occupancy. [1] The farmstead has been subject to some alteration but it appears that several of the original building shown on the Tithe Map survive in some form. [2-4]
