Full Description
The two buildings and closes are shown on the Parracombe Tithe Map of 1839 labelled number 800 with an adjacent annotation of "Invention". In the Apportionment Book at number 800, 'Houses and Courts' are recorded and at numbers 799 and 801 'Garden'. They are listed as being owned by the Revd Joseph Dovell and occupied by John Newman together with other orchards, pasture, meadow and arable forming a small holding. [1] The buidlings are shown in the same configuration on the Ordnance Survey 25 inch 1st Edition and 2nd Edition maps and labelled Invention. [2,3] The buildings appear to be mainly extant on the 2018 MasterMap data. [4]
