MEM23533 - Possible limekilns to the north of Porlockford (Monument)

Summary

Two structures are visible within Plot 911 on the Porlock Tithe Map, recorded as 'Anchor Inn, Limekiln' within the accompanying Tithe Apportionment. They appear to have been demolished by the early 20th Century.

Full Description

Two structures, likely to be limekilns, are depicted within Plot 911 on the Porlock Tithe Map. The plot is recorded as 'Anchor Inn, Limekiln' within the accompanying Tithe Apportionment. [1] A single structure is depicted within this plot on the First Edition 25 inch Ordnance Survey map. [2] The structures are not depicted on the Second Editon 25 inch Ordnance Survey map indicating that they had been eroded or demolished prior to 1907. [3]
