Full Description
A 20th Century sluice was recorded on the 2nd and 3rd Edition Ordnance Survey maps. This was not seen on the 2014 MasterMap. [1-3] The sluice was visited in September 2021 as part of a walkover survey of the site. The sluice was noted to be situated on the main channel of the River Aller and its stonework was said to be relatively intact, with both wing walls extant and the slot for the sluice evident. It was noted that the stonework on the invert may also survive. The left bank of the channel was noted to have further flanking walling. The sluice was said to have "historic (illustrative) value in demonstrating early 20th Century water management". [4]
