Summary
A watching brief in 2008 noted a linear feature here. It contained the remains of a fire, with charcoal and burnt bone. A piece of hazel was radiocarbon dated to between 780 and 990 AD.

Full Description
A watching brief in 2008 noted a linear feature here, described as a shallow trench that had partly been filled before having a fire within it. The fire appeared to have been fuelled by a range of small branches, consistent with the gathering of fuelwood for domestic activities and remains consisted of charcoal and burnt bone. A piece of hazel charcoal from the fire was radiocarbondated to around between 780 to 990 AD. [1]
