Full Description
An irregular ovoid enclosure was noted during a non-intrustive walkover survey of the proposed mire restoration area on Deer Park, undertaken by South West Archaeology as part of the Exmoor Mires Project. The northern side is defined by slight curving bank up to c. 3 metres wide by 0.15 metres high and a ditch on c. 1 metres wide and 0.3 metres deep. The feature has been truncated by a drainage ditch on the southern side. This feature is similar to MEM22526. [1] The Historic Environment Officer for the Exmoor Mires Project undertook a non-intrustive walkover survey of the proposed mire restoration area on Deer Park, which included this site. Noted was an enclosure with an ephemeral bank and ditch. It is defined by a distinct vegetation change. [2]
