Full Description

Chest tomb with grate. Mid to late 19th century. Ashlar chest tomb, iron grate with fleur-de-lys finials to the uprights. Chest tomb has moulded base and shaped top with 2 panels to each side bearing inscriptions flanked by short cusped headed pilasters. Carved heraldic shield at western end. [1] The building was visited in September 2012 as part of the rapid condition survey of Exmoor's Listed Buildings 2012-13. It received a BAR score of 5A. [2] The tomb lies within Parracombe Conservation Area. [3]
