Full Description

A linear group of four short lengths of bank on southwest side of Shilstone Hill was noted on aerial photographs. [1,2] Probably associated with World War Two artillery ranges. It is visible on an aerial photograph taken in 1946. [3] The ranges on Exmoor were used initially by the British, including chemical warfare units, and from 1943 by the US Artillery. [4]
