Full Description
A watching brief by Exeter Archaeology during trenching for a storm water holding tank recorded demolition waste and household rubbish dating to around the 1940s and 50s. The area was used as a rubbish dump in living memory. Redeposited clays may represent levelling of this dump in advance of the construction of the car park, which is known to have been completed before 1953. [1]
