Full Description
SS 630 477. A sherd of coarse dark clay, 0.4 inches thick with the remains of an abraded low cordon in applied clay, decorated with diagonal nicks, was found on Trentishoe Down by Mr SF Shutter, after ploughing. It is probably part of a Late Bronze Age or Iron Age vessel and is the first example of pottery of this period to be recorded in North Devon. [1,2] The sherd's current location is unknown.
