Details
The monument includes a cross of medieval origin which is located 10m south of the porch in the churchyard of the parish church at Treborough. The remains of the original late 13th century cross structure are a three-stepped octagonal base of local stone and Ham stone, each side of the lower step approximately 1.7m long, and a socket stone 0.6m square with broached upper corners. The shaft and lantern head, which contains a figure of St Peter, are 19th century additions, although the head is capped by what is believed to be the canopy from the original cross head. St Peter's Church dates from at least the 14th century and the cross stands in the graveyard which is believed to have been in use since at least the medieval period. The cross is Listed Grade II.
