Abstract/Summary
The report details the geoprospection of two survey areas at Hawkcombe Head, Exmoor (NGR: 284450, 145675). The survey was commissioned as part of the Dig Porlock project and as such worked in combination with a group of enthusiastic volunteers to undertake field survey. Following the discovery of several pieces of Mesolithic flint close to the road side two survey areas were selected for combined geopropsection surveys. The geoprospection surveys aimed to identify any anomalies that might be Mesolithic hearths, to allow future excavation to take place as part of the Dig Porlock project.
