Abstract/Summary
The report states that four HER Monument records are located in a field parcel in which a barn and yard are proposed. A slight impact on the buffer of a linear HER feature is possible, although LiDAR suggests the feature is further from the proposed development. A reduction in footprint of the proposals is suggested to mitigate this risk. A watching brief is considered to be appropiate archaeological mitigation for the proposals.
An assessment of the impact of the development on key historic views from and to HER features in the location of the site and other prominent high points suggests that these will be unaffected by the proposals. Some design alterations are also suggested to mitigate the issues with setting for the nearby features. Interpretation onsite for the existing Heritage Assets is also suggested as the field is used for access for the Exford Show and other public occasions.
