Abstract/Summary
Archaeological monitoring and recording of external works at Bidgoods, including the ground reduction in the areas immediately to the south, east and west of the building. It was confirmed that the 20th Century kitchen extension had included cutting into the slope, but the kitchen may overlay an earlier feature, possibly of 18th or 19th Century date. A well is shown on historic mapping in this location. The footings of a small stone built water closet were also exposed.
The archaeological potential of the area was noted to remain high despite the lack of earlier features or finds.
