Abstract/Summary
Archaeological monitoring and recording was undertaken during groundworks for a new agricultural building on land at West Luccombe Farm, to the north of the farm complex. The site lies on the periphery of earthworks relating to a shrunken medieval village. 12 foundation pad pits were monitored, which were 1 metre squared each and arranged in two rows. They were excavated to a depth of between 0.8 and 1 metre below existing levels. No archaeological features or deposits were exposed and no finds were recovered; the natural subsoil was encountered in both rows of pits.
