Full Description

Aller Farmhouse was orginally a Manor House and is now a dwelling. The building is late medieval in origin and was enlarged in the late 16th to early 17th century. The farmhouse was also restored in the mid to late 20th century. The building is rendered over rubble with clay tiled roofs. The fireplace is blocked but there is evidence to suggest a very large bacon curing chamber or corn drying kiln. [1] English Heritage Listed Building Number: 265285. First Listed on 22/05/1969. [2] The building was visited in June 2012 as part of the rapid condition survey of Exmoor's Listed Buildings 2012-13. It received a BAR score of 6. [4]
