A iron waterwheel in a wheel pit at Nicholls Farm, fed by a culverted leat from a pond. It was demolished c.1964.

Full Description

A water wheel was reported at Nicholls Farm and took the form of a culverted leat from a pond and had an iron wheel with pit measuring 18ft by 7ft. The structure was demolished c.1964. Remains of wheel shafting. Used as power for barn thresher etc. [1] The associated pond and leat can be seen on the 1st and 2nd Edition Ordnance Survey maps. [2,3] This record was enhanced as part of the National Record of the Historic Environment to Exmoor National Park Historic Environment Record data transfer project. [4]
