Full Description
At SS 9737 3163 in a field called 'Burrow Mead' [1] there is a spread grass covered mound 0.6m high with a rather indefinite perimeter. It has presumably been spread during the demolition of a field bank which formerly enclosed the mound on the north and east. The situation is low lying, but in view of the field name the mound is possibly a barrow. Surveyed at 1:2500. [2] SS 9737 3163. Brompton Regis 5. Possible barrow listed with reference to [1]. (This site is now covered by Wimbleball Reservoir). [3,4] This record was enhanced as part of the National Record of the Historic Environment to Exmoor National Park Historic Environment Record data transfer project. [5]
