Full Description
An alleged standing stone located on the southern crest of Trout Hill. Stone 0.16 metres high, 0.58 metres wide, 0.1 centimetres thick at SS 795 429. Could be natural but appears to have been set in place; several other sites on this spur end. [1] At SS 7943 4294 is an edge set stone measuring 0.25 metres long, 0.06 metres wide and 0.05 metres high. It is aligned northnorthwest to southsoutheast, and is set back 15 metres from the crest of steep natural slopes. The stone occurs in an otherwise stone free area; however, it may be a natural feature. [2] This record was enhanced as part of the National Record of the Historic Environment to Exmoor National Park Historic Environment Record data transfer project. [3]
