Full Description
17th century. Colourwashed, render and rubble thatched roof with eyebrow dormer, stone end stacks. Two storeys. One 2-light metal casement window with leaded lights to first floor, one 3-light and one 2-light windows to ground floor. Porch under thatched 'catslide' from main roof, plain door, side seats to porch. Later extension to rear with double Roman tiled roof. Forms part of a picturesque group of thatched cottages leading down to the River Avill and Gallox Bridge. [1] English Heritage Listed Building Number: 264704. First Listed on 22/05/1969. [2] The building is situated within Dunster's Conservation Area. [3] The building was visited in April 2012 as part of the rapid condition survey of Exmoor's Listed Buildings 2012-13. It received a BAR score of 6. [4] The building is depicted and labelled "15" on 2018 MasterMap data. [5]
