Full Description

The bearings remain in the barn where power was last used for apple crushers. It had an iron overshot wheel, removed in the 1940s. The remains of the wheel pit and shut leat from River Avill are still extant. [1] The water supply to the farmstead appears to have been altered at some time in the mid to late 19th Century, between the surveying of the Dunster Tithe Map and 25 inch 1st Edition Ordnance Survey map. Originally, a water course ran straight through the centre of the farmstead (south to north) but a further route was added to run along the west of the site at this time. [2,3]
