Full Description

A circular or sub rectangular enclosure of uncertain date is visible on aerial photographs as a cropmark north of Home Farm, Nettlecombe. Centred at approximately ST 0597 3860, the enclosure is defined by an area of darker crop growth, suggesting the presence of a boundary ditch, measuring between 2 and 3 metres wide. The enclosure itself measures 50 metres across, but is bisected by an extant hedgeline which makes the exact profile and size difficult to discern. It may well date to the later prehistoric period, possibly Iron Age, but further survey is required. Two additional cropmark enclosures are visible within the same field (MMO3608 and MMO3609). [1,2]
