Full Description

An area of possible ridge and furrow ploughing is visible on aerial photographs taken in the 1940s as earthworks south of Colton Farm, Nettlecombe. Centred at approximately ST 0580 3526, the area covered by the rig measures some 4.5 hectares, with the distance between the rig measuring an average of 7 metres. The earthworks have since been levelled by a conifer plantation, but may have been associated with the nearby deserted farmstead (MSO7720).
