Full Description
Two relict field boundaries of probable post-medieval date are visible as earthworks to the south of Newland quarries, centred on circa SS 8253 3840, on aerial photographs of the 1940s. The eastern bank abuts extant boundaries to the southeast but the northern end of the western bank is obscured by vegetation. Nonetheless, they can be seen to enclose the summit of a low hill to the south of Newland West Pit quarry. They are not visible on later aerial photographs and may have been levelled by post war agricultural improvements.
