Full Description
The remains of two former field boundaries of probable post-medieval origin can be seen on aerial photographs as earthworks centred on circa SS 8418 3991, at Swincombe Cleeve. They abut extant field boundaries at their southwestern ends and probably therefore operated as part of the surrounding field system. However, they are not marked on the 1st Edition Ordnance Survey map and were therefore probably abandoned prior to 1889. [1-3] This record was enhanced as part of the National Record of the Historic Environment to Exmoor National Park Historic Environment Record data transfer project. [4]
