Full Description

A probable post-medieval boundary ditch is visible on aerial photographs as an earthwork on Little Cornham, Exmoor. Centred at approximately SS 7556 3903, the ditch runs east-west across Little Cornham for approximately 350 metres. It may have continued further than this, but this is not apparent on aerial photographs. There is no trace of the ditch on photographs taken after 1947, and it was most likely removed by infilling or ploughing. A boundary ditch is depicted on the 1st Edition Ordnance Survey map of 1889, suggesting it was still in use at this time, and was probably abandoned early in the 20th Century.
