Full Description

Low earthworks visible on aerial photographs have been interpreted as the remains of a D shaped enclosure, possibly of later prehistoric date. The earthworks are located approximately 450 metres to the south of Ranscombe Farm at circa SS 9477 4270. The earthworks are somewhat fragmentary but appear to consist of an outer bank up to 5 metres wide, enclosing a ditch up to 10 metres in width. The ditch defines an enclosure approximately 25 by 30 metres in size. No entrance or internal features can be seen. [1-2]
