Centred at approximately SS 9620 4292, the two leats run parallel to each other east to west for approximately 115 and 150 metres. The longer of the two at SS 9617 4289 measures up to 3 metres wide, while the shorter one, at SS 9621 4294 is also the more narrow, measuring up to 2 metres wide. The leats appear to have been designed to channel water (possibly from the springs visible further east at SS 9662 4294) to the saw mill at Knowle Manor. The saw mill was constructed in 1828 and was known to have included an overshot wheel and pond. [1,2]
