Full Description
Two trackways or hollow way potentially of medieval date are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs on the south facing slope of Toms Hill. The two tracks are each visible for over 100 metres as they take slightly different course down the hill, before joining at circa SS 8030 4292. The earthworks may represent long established routes to a former crossing point over Long Combe, perhaps to reach the stell or sheep fold at circa SS 8033 4278. [1,2] This record was enhanced as part of the National Record of the Historic Environment to Exmoor National Park Historic Environment Record data transfer project. [3]
