Full Description

Two earthwork banks are visible on aerial photographs, on the north facing slopes of Allcombe Water to the south of Pitsworthy Farm, centred on circa SS 8360 4018 and SS 8369 4014. The longer western bank is visible for approximately 75 metres, the eastern earthwork for only about 20 metres. Both appear fragmentary or slightly, damaged, and although somewhat spread in appearance neither is much over 4 metres in width. The date of the earthworks is uncertain but they clearly attempted to enclose the combe slopes and may be relict field boundaries of medieval or possibly post-medieval date.
