Full Description

A small sub circular mound is visible on aerial photographs as an earthwork on moorland on Brendon Common, Brendon. Centred at SS 7645 4378 and measuring 6 metres across, the mound lies within an area of extensive post-medieval peat cutting, and is probably a peat stack or stand associated with this activity. [1-2] This record was enhanced as part of the National Record of the Historic Environment to Exmoor National Park Historic Environment Record data transfer project. [3]
