Full Description
A circular mound is visible on aerial photographs west of Brendon Two Gates, Exmoor. Centred at SS 7621 4323 and measuring approximately 10 metres in diameter, it is located in a prominent position on high ground overlooking an unnamed spring and Farley Water, suggesting it may be a prehistoric funerary monument, possibly a cairn. However, it also lies close to an area of post-medieval peat cutting, and may be the remains of peat stacking or other activities. Further survey is required to confirm a precise date and function.
