Full Description
A post-medieval gutter or drain is visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs in a field north of Pinkery Farm, Exmoor. Centred at approximately SS 7226 4133 the gutter runs approximately northwest to southeast, following the contours of the slope, and measures approximately 50 metres long. A water meadow system has been reported at this location (see MSO11797), although no trace of it is visible on aerial photographs, and it is possible that this gutter is part of that system. It was likely constructed around the same time as Pinkery Farm in the mid 19th Century.
