Full Description
A post medieval extractive pit or quarry is visible on aerial photographs as an earthwork to the north west of Lucott Farm. Centred at SS 8641 4516, the quarry is visible as a small oval depression close to the summit of the hill above Lucott Farm, measuring approximately 25 metres across. It is shown, but not annotated on the 1st Edition Ordnance Survey map, and may be a stone quarry associated with construction at Lucott Farm. [1-3] This record was enhanced as part of the National Record of the Historic Environment to Exmoor National Park Historic Environment Record data transfer project. [4]
