MMO1775 - Bronze Age hut circle northeast of Trentishoe Down (Monument)

Full Description
A possible Bronze Age hut circle is visible as a slight earthwork above the cliffs to the north-east of Trentishoe Down. Centred at SS 6306 4820, the hut circle consists of a slight ovoid bank encircling a hollow and measuring 11 metres in diameter. The interior of the circle measures approximately 8 metres across. It is located on a partially sheltered east facing slope above an un-named stream. There are several other hut circles of similar construction believed to date to the Bronze Age in this area. [1,2] This record was enhanced as part of the National Record of the Historic Environment to Exmoor National Park Historic Environment Record data transfer project. [3]
