Full Description
A medieval or post-medieval field boundary is visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs, to the east of Beggar's Knap. Centred on SS 8276 4690, the boundary encloses an approximately rectangular area measuring 120 metres wide by 100 metres long. It crosses both sides of a steep valley above Met Combe and measures approximately 100 metres across. It would appear to be a stock enclosure or similar, and is not shown on the 25 inch 1st Edition Ordnance Survey map. [1-3] This record was enhanced as part of the National Record of the Historic Environment to Exmoor National Park Historic Environment Record data transfer project. [4]
