Full Description

A weir is depicted on the River Avill diverting water into the mill stream recorded as MEM24623, on the 25 inch 1st Edition Ordnance Survey map at SS 9820 4343. [1] The weir is again shown on the 25 inch 2nd Edition map. [2] The weir is not depicted on the Tithe Map for Dunster; however, the mill leat is shown, suggesting the feature was in place by this time. [3] The weir is depicted and labelled on the 2022 MasterMap data. [4]
