Full Description

The 6 inch 3rd Edition Ordnance Survey map depicts and labels a Polo Ground and Pavilion on The Lawns at Dunster. The Pavilion is situated at SS 9971 4362, with a small associated building at SS 9973 4364. [1] The feature is not shown on the 25 inch 2nd Edition map, suggesting it post dates this edition. [2] The polo ground is not shown on the 2022 MasterMap data. The Pavilion and associated building both appear to be extant on this edition; the main building is now named Polo Bungalow. [3] A film dating from 1925 documents the Maharajah of Johdpur's polo team visiting the polo ground at Dunster. [4]
