Full Description
At SS 8267 4347 in a steep valley between the Meads and Madacombe, is a crude shelter. It is built within a small quarry-like scoop some 3.5 m long and 2.4 m wide. Three courses of laid stone blocks are visible along the upper face of the `quarry' scoop, and the entrnace is on the downslope side. It appears to be little more than a crude, shepherd's shelter. Found during field reconnaissance. [1] This record was enhanced as part of the National Record of the Historic Environment to Exmoor National Park Historic Environment Record data transfer project.
